Camping In The Uintas

In August we took our tent trailer and headed up in the mountains. It was quite fun!! We were in desperate need of some cooler weather and boy did we get it. It felt wonderful! The scenery was beautiful..tons of small lakes and hiking trails. Being up in the mountains it brings lots of unexpected lightening and thunderstorms. I've never felt the thunder like I did there. But no problem, just get in the camper, cook up some popcorn and hot chocolate, play some games and wait out the storm..because just as quickly as they come, they leave. While camping we floated around the lake in our little blow up boat. At the kids urging, Jeff attempted and attempted and attempted to cast a line out to fish..It's been awhile and thankfully the storm came and saved him from casting another line out!! hahaha

We also experienced an unexpected guest!! Nobody believed Jeff when he said that he saw a bear and wanted the kids to come and see....but it ran away too quickly for them to see. A few hours later he came back and stayed awhile for the photo shoot.

1st Day Of School

The summer went by too quickly. We didn't do all the things that we had planned for the summer to do. But school came anyway. August 20th was our 1st day of school. The kids were very excited to head back. Megan entered the 5th grade, Benjamin 2nd grade and Heather started Kindergarten. The kids go to a charter school about 10 minutes away. So mom is officially the school bus driver. Yes, the kids do wear uniforms, but it is very nice. I would recommend it to anyone!! No more morning dilemmas of what to wear!!
